ABOUT LORI JANE GLIHA

Lori Jane is an accomplished national television correspondent
who has worked for Al Jazeera America’s flagship news magazine show, America Tonight, since it was created in 2013.


She is known for her in-depth investigations, hard-hitting interviews, and continuous coverage of important issues including the water crisis in Flint, MI, the unrest in Ferguson, MO, the influx of Central American migrants at the border, and the search for Relisha Rudd, a missing homeless girl in the nation’s capital.

She has reported from more than thirty states and five countries during her time at Al Jazeera, covering marijuana laws in Jamaica, the victims of downed flight MH-17 in the Netherlands, and the revitalization of the Colorado River Delta in Mexico.

She received a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Southern California, and graduated Summa cum Laude as the Outstanding Broadcast Journalism Undergraduate.  She minored in Spanish. 

Lori Jane has been recognized for various investigations throughout her career, including her continuing coverage of ATF's controversial Fast and Furious case.  She was the first reporter to reveal internal documents proving specific assault weapons linked to the case turned up at crime scenes in the Phoenix area.


EMMY AWARD WINNING REPORTING

Lori Jane received a Rocky Mountain Emmy for her extensive reporting on the suicides of four Phoenix firefighters and the changes that occurred at the department because of it.  Her reporting brought international attention to the mental health needs of firefighters. 

Her stories are now being used in fire department training videos in various parts of the country, and FEMA requested access to the videos as part of the federal government's fire training program at the National Fire Academy in Maryland.

She has also received Emmys for investigative, general assignment, journalistic enterprise, political, business/consumer, military, and spot news reporting.


ANCHOR AND REPORTER
 

Lori Jane previously served as an investigative reporter for ABC15 in Phoenix and as a weekend anchor.

Prior to working in Arizona, Lori Jane reported and anchored at WNEM-TV5 in Saginaw/Flint, Michigan and WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan.

Lori Jane also enjoys writing music, singing, and cheering on her USC Trojans.
